A little field trip I go:

Field trip shirts have been available for sale the following dates:

 June 18

July 18

Aug 8th

Sep 4th

In addition to being able to order them online. During the open house date of Aug 8th all teachers and staff reminded families that having a field trip shirt was mandatory. Field trip shirts have always been mandatory for our students. 

It is also imperative that permission slips and payments are turned in by the due date listed at the top of each permission slip. This is to ensure the correct number of buses is requested 2 weeks prior to field trip, in addition to giving our cafeteria staff ample time to order lunch and prepare them. We are required to turn in a final count of students needing bagged lunch 2 weeks prior.

Deposits need to be paid ahead of time. We are also required to have a final headcount 2 weeks prior to the date of the trip so their staff is ready for our students. We also need a final headcount to ensure we have the correct number of adult to child ratios for these trips. 

There is a lot of planning and preparation that needs to be made and as the field trip coordinator, I need to meet these deadlines to have a successful field trip for our students. Parent support and understanding is incredibly important to make this process go smoothly.

While we want every student to be able to participate, and while we feel badly for the students who are unable to, we are unable to continue to make exceptions for specific students. We understand that some parents and students may find this frustrating, but part of the reason that we have planned out the entire year so early is so that there is ample time for parents to handle what they need to.
